South Cape May Meadows Nature Preserve boasts 2.5 miles of trails and an observation platform, giving visitors a chance to spy wildlife and safely explore dunes, freshwater wetlands, meadows, ponds and a mile of undeveloped beach—a rarity on the Jersey shoreline! Birders will delight in the array of migratory raptors, waterfowl, shorebirds and beach nesting birds at the preserve, as well as the arrival of monarch butterflies during their fall migration. River otters, muskrats, deer and eastern box turtles can also be spotted at the 217-acre preserve.
