Stop Clearcutting the Tongass National Forest
The Tongass National Forest in Alaska is America’s largest forest. It’s home to treasured wildlife like bears, wolves, and salmon. Yet, the United States Forest Service is allowing industrial scale clearcutting on thousands of acres of old growth forest.
Now they want to take it even further — proposing a plan to extend clearcutting in the Tongass for another 15 years! Damage from 15 more years of clearcutting in the Tongass would be irreversible. Endangered wildlife that depend on the forest for survival will suffer and the effects of climate change will worsen.
Your voice is needed to change that. Tell the U.S. Forest Service to put a stop to old growth logging in the Tongass
